# blogmas. Day Ten.

I started off today with a little bit of nail art. I wanted to try out the Nail Art Pens I bought last week. My God, they are messy. I expected them to be so easy but the polish doesn't hold, it just splurts out everywhere - sigh. I do like the colour of the rhinestones though, so that's something!

I went on a mooch around Superdrug at lunchtime. I was  looking for a purple polish  that was dark but not black. As much as I love my Essie Luxedo, it just looks dark on the nails and I want to be able to see my purple pretties. I found  these two purple polishes by NYC Cosmetics and fell in love. I haven't tried them yet but I am already pleased with them. The gold was an added extras they were on 3 for 2!

I met my sister in the city after I'd been to Foodbank this afternoon. I had to take a quick snap of the lights outside John Lewis. I have never seen a Christmas tree like that before!

And now I'm getting in bed with my favourite man to watch Sons of Anarchy and eat this gorgeous red velvet cupcake from Fancie.

#blogmas. Day Seven.

Today was spent mainly at Food bank getting ready for the filming this afternoon. I finished sorting all the stock from Tesco - well only half of it as the rest is still in storage!

This is my organised chaos of which I was  sorting the weighed in stock to the right boxes. I knew what I was doing, promise!

Took this sneaky pic of the BBC camera bags. I was  interviewed and there were a few shots of us packing up bags and dealing face to face with the customers. it was a strange experience - really bad reality TV!

We went out for a curry for dinner tonight, naturally I forgot my camera. Sorry! But had this gorgeous red velvet cupcake in bed when I got home. Such a nice evening. An  An early night for the Christmas market tomorrow. I am excited!

Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween and this year I am super excited as my little man understands it a bit more this year. I love the dressing up and eating laods of sweets - obviously. It's a fun time of year that brings everyone together - I think it's great. It's also the start of Christmas, for me.

I know this isn't what I usually post on here but I love to bake and wanted to share this recipe with you all. I made ginger cake with cute little pumpkin moulds last night and they were gorgeous. It's also a really simple recipe that anyone could do.

It's a standard victoria sponge cake mix of 4 oz sugar, 4 oz soft butter, 4 oz self-raising flour and 2 eggs. I swapped the caster sugar for dark muscovado sugar and also added a tablespoon of cocoa and a tablespoon of ground ginger - though this would be to taste, add a little at a time to make sure you get it right. If you put too much ginger in and it becomes too bitter for you, my trick is to add a little icing sugar as it's light enough not to weigh the batter down. Cooked at 180 degrees for 20 minutes, these were perfect. To finish I just added a little icing drizzled on the top for sweetness.
