Colgate 360 Actiflex Review!

When I decided to write this post, I couldn't decide if I was going a little crazy or not. A toothbrush review, really? These days toothbrushes claim to do everything exception your dog and as a person who has huge dental hygiene OCD, I feel it's important to know what you need from a good toothbrush and what's just added a few pounds to the price. I use an electronic toothbrush as my usual brush, changing the heads every two months or so, but I do feel it's important to still have a manual brush as well.

The Colgate 360 Actiflex stood out to me as it has a soft head. I always use soft bristles as my gums took a hammering a few years ago from using the whole toothbrushes. It also has a tongue and cheek cleaner (the rubbery bit on the back of the head) which is very important. Note that these pictures were all taken before being used and it won't stay looking this good. I do love a good toothbrush!

The actiflex part of this brush is that the head isn't set into the handle, it's on flexible plastic so it twists from side to side to get around your teeth better, a really good feature that does actually work.

It does claim to clean in between teeth too but I'd still recommend flossing as I didn't think it did that job too great. But I give this toothbrush huge praise, it did 90% of what it stated and my mouth did feel incredibly clean.

The Trussell Trust need food!

I do a lot of work with numerous different charities and one very close to my heart is Foodbank run by The Trussell Trust. A lot of you probably would never hear of this service which offers emergency food for people in a crisis. Though run by Christian groups, mainly in Churches, anyone is welcome. I have volunteered at Foodbank for only a few weeks after I found out about it through advertising. You may have seen the TV show on BBC1 this week, Britain's Hidden Hungry which gives a real insight into the system and also a little background into why people need to use Foodbank. It isn't all heroin addicts who are there by fault of their own. Some are families who've have an emergency and left them with no money, benefit delays, domestic violence meaning people have had to leave their home quickly - you very rarely hear two stories the same.

When we give out food, is it not luxuries. The Foodbank that is shown on the BBC show is not like the one I volunteer at, or most in the UK. Mostly we give out long life essentials such as pasta, tinned food and long life milk.

If you can donate even a few items of this list, it would mean so much. I started by taking food down and it was then I was asked if I wanted to volunteer. If you go onto the Trussell Trust website, you can find your local food bank. Most towns have them but you can donate online to a different one, if you wanted to. you never know who might need to use Foodbank, so please give generously.

I am a huge country girl. I love the countryside. I was born in it and I love in it. Many people think this means I was brought up on a farm and went to a tiny village school and I wish that I did, but I didn't. I went to a normal school on the outskirts of a large town but when I left, I moved. Back to a tiny village in semi-rural Yorkshire. My home. I am proud to be a Yorkshire girl.

Many people hate the accent and think that 'Yorkshire born, Yorkshire bred, strong in t'arm, thick in t'head' is more a way of life than a little rhyme. I do know some people from Yorkshire who even I can't understand and I am sad to say I don't have a Yorkshire accent as strong as most people believe I would. I am quite well educated and I think I just sound a little rough-around-the-edge English. I do sometimes forget to pronounce my T's and I do have a little twang but damn it, I wouldn't change it for the world!

My son is signed up to the next village along's school. He will be one of only 7 children in his year. It's acceptable of me to were a Barbour jacket and not look like a cheap city girl just wearing a label. I have a pair of Hunter wellies and a wax jacket and this is day to day attire. It's all about knits, fleece and  walking boots. I have two different wardrobes; Village life and city life. Walking the dog and walking in Jimmy Choo. Waterproof walking trouser and PU leggings. I know I'm in the minority on this, but why go abroad on holiday when there is so much of the UK to explore? Give me the highlands, the mountains and the south coast anyday! Oh, and this view of my village.
