#blogmas. Day Four.

Today started with yet another nail polish change. I don't know why but I really wanted to neutralise it down today so I went for Essie's Vanity Fairest. I love the shimmery colour, sheer enough to not opaque out the nails. I bought this polish for my Obama water transfers and haven't wore it since. It made a really nice change actually.

I got a phone call with some super good news today so I wanted to treat myself this lunch time. I went to my favourite local patisserie and got a chocolate tart - my absolute favourite! It went down super well with my coffee, though they need to start serving a flat white. I'm a huge coffee snob.

Took my little man to playgroup this afternoon, but he wanted to listen to music on my Kindle - obviously. He's wearing his new Gruffalo hat too. My house is full of Gruffalo merch now. He's so bloody cute!

I have no appetite today - that chocolate tart has been it... oops! Dinner was some homemade Oxtail soup which I love in Winter. I'm still on my no-bread kick but I did have a pitta with my soup. It was so yummy!

#blogmas. Day Three.

And I just made it before midnight! Day Three already, this is crazy! But that also means only 2 days until my pretty face is home from his holiday.

In the dead early hours of this morning, I decided to repaint my nails. Thiz is the third consecutive time I have applied Essie's Lacquered Up, I am really loving it. I put Barry M 351 Yellow Topaz Glitter on top which I think is a great touch. It looks so pretty and festive! I noticed all my nails were starting to tear and split so I cut them all down too. They're a little longer than they look in this picture actually...

I was out most of the day today so I had to grab lunch on the go. I always try and go to Boots if I have to get food to go as I love their meal deals. I always get the same - Tropicana Orange and Mango juice and Walkers Baked crisps with my favourite sandwich. Ham and light Philadelphia on malted bread. It's seriously yummy and very filling.

I also popped into Meadowhall (my local shopping centre) on the way home from my afternoon at Foodbank to look for a loose knit cream jumper - for my gold PU legings. I found a really nice one so will do an OOTD post for you. They have their Christmas decorations up and I fell in love with their giant tree. It's amazing! I'm slowly stsrtibg to get in the Christmas spirit...

I also had a cheeky treat this evening while I Skyped my other half. These little things are seriously yum!

Is it a Golden Wonder?

Another review from one of Lush's Christmas range. This time is the Golden Wonder bath bomb.

I love the idea that it's a gift - an outside with a little something inside. You can hear this when you shake it. It's a shimmery gold so I expected that to come off in the bath. I was also told it has colour changing blocks and tiny stars in it. It has a gorgeous perfume scent and contains cognac and orange oil - perfect for Christmas. It's a huge bath bomb which is always nice too. At £3.25 it's also a good price. As stated on the website, 'This isn't a bath - it's an event!' I am excited to try this one.

First off, the promise of stars didn't deliver - I was so disappointed! The water went this gorgeous teal shade and had gold glitter shimmering through it, so it was still super pretty. I also found the gorgeous scent disappeared which I was really bummed about. It has to be one of the best smelling bath bombs I have ever tried.

As with all Lush products, my skin was left feeling really nice and hydrated. The scent stayed on the skin just a little and the shimmer rubbed off quickly. I think  I'd buy one of these again just for the yummy smell of it. And next time, I want stars!

#blogmas. Day Two.

Today is a chill out day for me. And by chill out I mean a not-leaving-the-house day.

I had to get up super early to walk my parents' dogs but it was actually really nice to get up and get some fresh air. It's a gorgeous winters day out, crisp and sunny. The dogs love getting walked around here as there are a lot of private roads that they can run about on, not having to worry about cars. This road is about 2 miles and leads to the next village along from us so I tend to walk half way and then come back on the same road. I had so many layers on but I was still freezing. It's certainly winter now - brr!

My village lies in the middle of a working country estate and they still shoot and hunt. At the moment it's pheasant season - there are hundreds of them all over. They've been out most mornings shooting them. Found loads of empty shells on the fields next to the roads. I'm not exactly pro-hunting but I think when you live in an estate like we do, you have to respect what goes on.

I'm trying to have a healthy day today as lunch was a tuna and cucumber pitta. It was really nice and filling actually. I'm cutting out bread so pitta is the most I'm going to eat. Christmas slimming and all that. Had a glass of water and a Yeo Valley natural yogurt to follow. I felt quite good after that!

So much for a healthy day. My Dad brought me these round as a little thank you for looking after the dogs this weekend. Going to settle down for the evening with these and a watch Bridesmaids. Only 3 more sleeps until my other half gets home from Europe.

#blogmas. Day One.

So, you may notice this first post is a day late. I promise you it isn't. For some reason, Blogger didn't put it up on schedule so I've just done it automatically - sorry! I'm also going to stop doing my about me posts and my week in pictures posts this month as I think these will be enough for you.

I've seen a few posts on Twitter and blogger saying people are going to do this and I think it's a great idea. I have no where near enough confidence to do vlogs but I do like to blog about everyday life - not just beauty and fashion. I'm going to try my absolute hardest to do these posts everyday, but if there are  few sneaky day-late posts, don't shout at me!

Today was  busy day. We had the Trussell Trust Foodbank collection nationwide at Tesco. It was a huge success and there is still all day tomorrow to go yet. I am a volunteer at Foodbank and we give out emergency food for people in a crisis. We did our collection at the Tesco Extra in Burngreave, Sheffield. Tesco have been amazing through the whole thing, offering to help collect, sort, deliver and even store all the products we are given. And most importantly, they are going to give us an extra 30% on top of what we get from the public. We had an amazing time there and were made to feel very welcome. I did 9am until 1pm so it was long morning but it really was brilliant.

After I'd finished up, I headed out to do a little shopping - needed to treat myself! I picked up some amazing bits in Primark - can anyone say gold? There are some Black PU leggings in there too, under the gold ones. I'm going to do a haul post with this lot tonight as I think some of you will really love what I picked up. And who doesn't love a Primark haul, be honest? If I'm totally honest, I have no clue when I'm going to wear the gold leggings but they were £6 - the bad thing about Primark. I was thinking with a cream loose-knit jumper or an all black outfit, maybe?

I also went into Lush to pick up a few bits. They had sold out of my toner tabs and I almost cried. I really, really wanted to have a good steam. Sad face! But I did pick up loads of nice bath goodies for the cold nights. One or two were from the Christmas range so expect a review on those soon. I have to admit, I'd prefer to see a Christmas bag than this one. Where is the snow and fairies and all things pretty?

I made my favourite pasta dish last night - I don't know where the picture has gone, sorry! It's just plain pasta, bacon all cut up and cucumber. I am well aware that it sounds boring as shit but it's really yummy. I used to eat it all the time and it went down a treat with a glass of Pinot after a hard day. I'm also looking after my parents' dogs this weekend so up late walking them, up early tomorrow to walk them. Sigh.

My Week in Pictures!

Monday.  I am the ultimate Toberlone fiend.

Tuesday. Bought a new Essie polish today. This is Lacquered Up, a gorgeous scarlet red. It's perfect for Christmas parties.

Wednesday.  I made tuna pasta bake tonight for dinner, it was delicious.

Thursday. Dying my hair with this tonight - I can't wait to add more purple. The Live XXL Luminance range is really good for my dark hair.

Friday. My favourite place in the entire city. It's so peaceful.

Saturday.  Did a little shopping in Primark today.

Sunday. The perfect Sunday. Enough said.

Primark Haul!

This isn't something I usually do - haul my clothing and accessories, but I picked up a few little bits in Primark this weekend that I wanted to share with you. They're all really nice pieces at an even nicer price. I find that Primark is pretty hit and miss - sometimes you can buy half the shop and sometimes it's a disaster.

This gold studded belt is a great piece. I'm looking forward to wearing this against black jeans or PU leggings to add a little something. It's a great colour - not too in your face. At only £2 it's also a complete bargain. I'm sorry for now many times I say that in this blog post.

Recognise these? They are super similar to my bargain 80p market earrings but these drop cross earrings are just a touch bigger and a little heavier so they're a bit easier to wear as a statement piece - which I will be doing. The are a yellow gold so they'll go well with... well, the rest of what I bought today! Did I mention they were only £1?

Isn't this gold studded ring just beautiful. It's big, it's flash and it's bloody beautiful. A real statement piece. As you can see it was only £2 and it's probably worth more than that as scrap metal - it's so heavy! It's a real easy piece to just put on and glam an outfit up.

This is the same as the ring above. It's a really big, heavy piece. On elastic, it's easy to wear and also will glam up an outfit in a second. This studded bracelet, at only £3 it's a fabulous piece. It's the same gold as the ring and earrings too! I seriously adore this bracelet and cannot wait to wear it!

I also bought 2 pairs of PU (leather look) leggings; a black pair and a gold pair too. I'm not 100% when I'll wear the gold pair but I was thinking with an all black outfit, they're look fabulous!
